Yay! More commissioned pieces!

I made these for Kristen in Canada, who found me on Etsy :)

I also used a different method to attach the studs to the earrings, and hopefully they will be sturdier and more durable.

I made a wedding cake! I don't know why, but it's cute and very small. It would be best in a doll house rather than as jewelry (mainly because I forgot to add the finding.

I made it while watching Moulin Rouge, and I tried to make the roses look like the ruffles of a cancan dress :-)

And this is my favorite picture, because to me, it looks like the slice is saying to the entire cake, "Hey hot stuff, how's it goin'?" In my world of miniatures, all slices are smooth talkers.

I got the urge to make these while watching V for Vendetta. I don't know what that says about me, but they turned out well none the less.

These will eventually be earrings when I get to the craft store for some sterling silver ear wires...

This was made for my aunt to go with her matching truffle earrings :-D

It's kind of a funny story. As soon as I figured out it was in fact she that had purchased the earrings, I began to make this as a surprise. That night, she called and asked for the matching pendant and it had already been made, just not baked yet. We're basically on the same wavelength :-)

I finally got around to making cherry pie version 2.0.

This time I used seed beads instead of small balls of polyclay, and I'm still not completely satisfied with the outcome. I think I need larger, less translucent beads before I'll be fully happy, but I'm pretty damn self-satisfied right now ;)

I'm still not sure if this is actually a cake. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's not--bananas would oxidize and become icky very quickly and I don't think I'd like the flavor (but that's me...)

I still like the looks of it though. I tried for a "homemade" icing with a slightly different technique, and made the banana slices out of a cane, which I promptly mistook for a regular piece of clay and smushed, making a not quite white, not quite brown lump of ick :( But, in the words of the Beatles, it's getting better all the time (it can't get no worse.)

I tried to make this one look as home-made as possible. No bakery tricks, no smoothing out, just a good ol' fashioned yellow sponge cake with white buttercream icing.

And then I forgot to put in the jewelry findings. D'oh.

Remember Weeble and Bob and their fifteen minutes of fame? If they weren't so annoying, this would be my tribute to them...

This is actually Version 1.0--it still needs some work, but the concept is there. I've made a different version, but I'm waiting to see how it turns out (and keeping you in suspense ;)

Yes, I've fallen in love with the skulls too and have made even more to accommodate my love...

These haven't been glazed yet, nor do they have French hooks or beads or anything like that, but they will be getting them shortly :)

The spotted one is my favorite because he looks like he's got smallpox, but they're happy smallpox.

I got this idea from Japaya on the craftster boards. I sent her a message asking for approval and explaining that while our earrings were twins, they weren't identical twins, they were fraternal.

Yay! Another item sold! And even before it was listed!

Jessica, a friend and fellow history nerd commissioned a pair of red rose earrings and this is what I came up with. I didn't even think to take a picture of the two of them together (brilliant me...) I had to model them for uh, safety testing purposes and all, but she'll have to send a picture of them in action :)

And even better, they're customizable and for sale!

I like the concept of cinnamon rolls, but I'm allergic to cinnamon--it breaks my mouth out and isn't worth the pain it causes. So instead of cinnamon rolls, I made sticky buns (with a rum glaze, which is ten times better than cinnamon any day.)

I made some actual rum bums earlier in the day, and figured if I'd made the real thing, I should at least make it in miniature.

These aren't glazed yet. I'm not sure I'm happy with "rum glaze"--it's too translucent and needs a bit more opacity for my tastes...

Ah, the official state pie of Florida and one of my favorites...topped with whipped cream and slices of key lime.

The key lime cane was really, really finicky to make and I re-made it more times than I'd like to admit to before coming to one I was somewhat happy with. And that's not actually a key lime!

Another version of the kiwi tart, but a bit different. I tried to fan the kiwi slices instead of simply lying them out.

Another attempt at a strawberry buttercream cake (could this be a shortcake?) Who knows--it's still pretty :)

This was my first attempt at a different cutting technique and I think the slice and cake look much better for it...

with chocolate glaze and rainbow sprinkles, of course :)

Two kinds of donuts--chocolate and sugar glazed, and of course, rainbow sprinkles.

I think the sprinkles are out of proportion, but I like them none the less...I could go back and make them into smaller sprinkles, but I think I like these better...

I decided to try my hand at cane-making, and thought a kiwi would be simple enough, and indeed it was.

So I had about 4 inches worth of kiwi cane and no idea what to do with it, so I decided to try my hand at a tart as well :)

I borrowed the bottle cap I used to shape the tart's crust from wunkim, so she got this one as payment.

I'm not sure if there is such a thing as banana creme cake, but it sure looks cool. Or it could be lemon. Either way, I like it.

Unfortunately, this cake didn't cut very well and the slices are uneven. I've also changed my slicing methodology since then because this disappointed me so much.

But it will be remade, and it will be cooler ;)

I don't like the taste of waffles much (it's the syrup...it's kind of...gross)

But personal phobias aside, it was fun making a waffle mold and then executing said waffles...and the butter tops it all off :)

The syrup is a combination of eyeshadow and glaze...oh, crafty.
